I was a BT on board around 1974-early75 and I didn't last very long...because of the attitude of the people I had to work with I ended up at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego for almost two months of medical treatment.
We were just out of Hawaii headed for San Diego...I had to be airlifted off the ship by helo to the Kitty Hawk's sick bay until we hit port and then to the hospital; after that I was reassigned to the USS Chicago CG-11 and a more competent run ship the OCallahan was a nightmare for me.
